Arkansas Explorer Search and Rescue, Crew 393 is an all-volunteer,
youth oriented team whose mission is to provide a free-of-charge,
trained and certified Search and Rescue Team anywhere in the State of
Arkansas at anytime.
Our team consist of youth members 14 to 20 years old and adult
advisors. We are registered as Venture Crew 393 with the Quapaw
Area Council, Boy Scouts of America and an Organizational Member of
the National Association for Search and Rescue. We formed our team
in March of 1993 and have participated in Search and Rescue missions
in over 30 Arkansas Counties. In addition, we have participated in
many training sessions and public events.
Search and Rescue is a highly technical field which requires a lot of
expensive gear and training. As our unit grows and more agencies call
on us, our need for sponsorship for funds and equipment has also
grown. We receive no public funding and totally rely on our fund raising
projects and the generosity of individuals, businesses, and
organizations for funding. The team members have worked hard to
purchase and maintain our equipment and to pay for training courses
and certification testing. We are asking for help in our funding efforts so
that we may continue to meet our mission objectives and support our
youth members.
We believe that our mission is worthy not only to the citizens of
Arkansas, but also to our members that prove that todays' youth can
and do have a positive impact on society. Well over 200 young people
have served since 1993.
If you or your business or organization are able to provide assistance in
our efforts or if you would like to provide a gift-in-kind of any of the
specific projects or equipment that we need, we would be appreciative.
We may be contacted in any of the ways shown below if you have
questions or a donation. All donations are acknowledged with a letter.
Thank You in Advance!!!!
